What Does DTS Mean In YWAM?

YWAM DTS stands for Youth With A Mission Discipleship Training School. It is an intensive 5-month program designed to equip and empower youth to passionately pursue Jesus and to share the gospel with the world.

What Does Dts Mean?

It includes a lecture phase and an outreach phase.

During the lecture phase you will get to Know God. Teachers from around the world will teach on the character and nature of God and you’ll be trained on how to heal the sick, preach the Gospel of the Kingdom and Disciple Nations.

While on the outreach phase you will get the opportunity to go and Make God Known by implementing what you you learned during the lecture phase.

How old do you have to be to do a DTS?

The minimum age to do a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) is 18 years old, however, someone who is 17 years old may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. There is no maximum age limit for a DTS, so people of all ages are encouraged to apply! The main requirement is that you have a personal relationship with Jesus and a desire to grow deeper in your faith.

Where is the Cheapest YWAM DTS?

The cheapest YWAM DTS will vary depending on the location and duration of the Discipleship Training School. Generally speaking, the shorter, 6-month DTS programs, located in developing countries, are the most affordable. The cost of these programs is typically around $3,500 USD and includes accommodation, food, course materials, and outreach fees. In addition, some DTSs offer scholarships and discounts for those who qualify, so it’s always worth exploring those possibilities. No matter where you decide to do your DTS, you’ll be sure to have an amazing experience and grow closer to God!

The Infinito DTS at YWAM Asuncion is one of the best DTS programs in the world at a really affordable price.

How Many YWAM locations are there?

YWAM (Youth With a Mission) is a global movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures, and denominations working together to share the message of Jesus. There are currently over 1,200 YWAM locations in more than 180 countries around the world, including locations in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas. YWAM’s mission is to mobilize, equip, and send people to share the love of Jesus, build relationships, and help people in need. YWAM has been making a difference in the lives of individuals and communities around the world for over 50 years.

How much does a YWAM DTS cost?

I’ve heard of one DTS costing as much as $14,000. The Infinito DTS at YWAM Asuncion costs significantly less. Right now the lecture phase costs $1560 and the outreach phase costs around $1000 (depending on the outreach location).

Best YWAM Locations

The great thing about YWAM is there are many great locations that offer their Discipleship Training School (DTS). Each location has a different focus. If you feel called to Africa, there’s a YWAM base for that. If you feel called to surfing, there’s a YWAM base for that. Want to hike in the mountains of Nepal and find unreached people groups? There’s a YWAM base for that.

Again, my personal favorite YWAM base is in Asuncion, Paraguay (but I am biased).
